This application calculates TBSS (Traumatic Bleeding Severity Score).
TBSS is a scoring system that quickly predicts the need for massive transfusion in severely injured patients.
the TBSS is calculated using only five clinical variables: the patients age, systolic blood pressure, results from the focused assessment with sonography for trauma scan (FAST), the presence or severity of a pelvic fracture, and serum lactate levels . In Japan, it has shown high accuracy through both internal and external validations. Furthermore, based on sensitivity and specificity, TBSS scores are used to categorize risk into categories (Low risk, Gray zone [indeterminate risk], High risk), designed to allow for immediate determination of the need for massive transfusion.
